Moc Chau Eco Network Manifesto
Agricultural Network & Moc Chau Ecotourism was established with the aspiration to build a sustainable development ecosystem, where tourism, agriculture and local service business units can cooperate, share and develop based on common values: respect for nature – preserve indigenous culture – create sustainable livelihoods for the community.
We believe that the strength of Moc Chau lies not only in the majestic natural landscape or the diverse culture of ethnic minority communities, but also in the close association between local subjects. Each unit participating in the network is an important “link” in the value chain of tourism – ecological agriculture. When connected to each other, those links create a lively, unique and reliable destination.
Our mission includes:
- Connecting tourism, agricultural and local service facilities to form a sustainable tourism – agricultural ecosystem.
- Support units to improve management capacity, brand and service quality according to a set of ecological criteria.
- Build trust with visitors by ensuring quality & transparency criteria, helping visitors choose reliable services.
- Promote Moc Chau as a leading ecological destination, attract environmentally conscious tourists, promote indigenous cultural values, increase community value.
Quality standard monitoring mechanism
To maintain prestige and service quality, the network builds and operates two sets of separate supervision criteria, suitable for the characteristics of different member groups:
- Ecotourism criteria: focusing on environmental management, quality of accommodation – dining – experience, cultural interaction, community participation and social responsibility.
- Set of criteria for Ecological Agriculture: focusing on sustainable farming methods, protecting natural resources, biodiversity, traceability and connecting tourism – experiential education.
Each unit participating in the network will self-assess their level of response according to a set of criteria suitable for the type of activity (tourism, agriculture or both). After completing the self-assessment file, the network management board will conduct a preliminary appraisal to determine the appropriateness.
Every year, the network will organize quality monitoring activities, including: reviewing records, updating self-assessment tables, field inspection (when necessary), as well as getting feedback from tourists. The monitoring process is not intended to create barriers, but to encourage units to continuously improve, thereby improving the overall quality of the entire network.
Units are ranked according to different levels of standard (e.g. Basic – Advanced – Pioneering). The level of standard will be publicly shown on the network website, helping tourists have more transparent information to choose reliable services. For units that cannot maintain the criteria, the network will have a mechanism to remind, support improvement and in case of need, suspension or withdrawal of certification.
With this mechanism, the network is not only a place to connect units but also a quality assurance system, helping to improve the reputation of the entire Moc Chau region, aiming to develop tourism and ecological agriculture in a sustainable and responsible way.
